1.0 SUBJECT: Telecommunications Status Web Page

3.0 FROM: Denise Moore, Director of DISC

4.0 PURPOSE: To announce the availability of a 7 X 24 Telecommunications Status web page to provide status on active major data or voice problems.

5.0 BACKGROUND: DISC and the Network Control Center aim to provide convenient ways to keep our customers informed of major telecommunications problems and/or outages. This web page will enable users to obtain current information on such problems without having to call the NCC in many instances.

6.0 PROCEDURE: Anytime an individual wishes to check the voice and data networks, they can use their web browser to access the Telecommunications status page found at: http://da.state.ks.us/networkstatus/. This will mainly be used to advise of current problems and allow the user to be informed of the current status during an outage, assuming that the Internet is available to view this information. This page will not list all problems or give specific details. If, after looking at the Telecommunications Status web page questions are still unanswered in regard to your problem, please call the Network Control Center at 785-296-2310.
