Minutes of Previous Meeting: Accepted as submitted.
KSPACe Update: KSHS has been awarded the grant for the full amount but we have not received the money yet. There will be internal meetings along with Mark Galbraith and Bill Sowers from the State Library. In order to manage the grant a Project Team, Technical Committee, and Steering Committee have been created. Mark G will chair the Steering Committee. It will include Pat, Scott, and Matt, and representatives from Legislative staff, DISC, the academic arena, the judicial branch, KDOR, and KDHE. On the Technical Committee will be Steve Roach who works for the State Library and the Legislature, Matt (chair), Scott, Jesse, and Trevor from KSHS, and representatives from KDOR, accessKansas, and DISC. The Project Team has Scott as project manager with Pat, Matt, Trevor Swarm (KSHS Webmaster), Jane Kelsey (KSHS cataloger), and Bill Sowers from the State Library. Sherry asked how long was the grant period and Scott replied for a year but the money will be spent on the hardware and a contract programmer. Scott added that there is a plan to write a grant proposal to the National Historic Publications and Records Commission (NHPRC) to extend KSPACe beyond the storage of state publications and test it as a model electronic records repository.
Risk Assessment Tool Project: Jenny, Doug, Matt, Cynthia, and Scott are the team members. After several meetings the group developed a draft and a color chart based upon previously determined questions and the Minnesota document. A draft document may be ready for the Committee to review next month.
Other Business: Scott submitted an update on current ERC projects. Scott mentioned that he is now editor of the Crossroads newsletter for NAGARA and wrote an article on KDOR’s e-mail project.
Next meeting: April 7 , 2004, 2:00 p.m. Executive Conference Room, CHR, KSHS.
