Bulletin No. 03-04

1.0 SUBJECT: Performance Reviews
2.0 EFFECTIVE DATE: June 22, 2003
3.0 DISTRIBUTION: State HR Directors
4.0 FROM: Jack E. Rickerson, Director DATE: June 22, 2003
5.0

PURPOSE:  To address policy change effective immediately regarding K.A.R. 1-7-10.

6.0 BACKGROUND:

K.A.R. 1-7-10 requires, in part, that performance ratings be done on forms prescribed by the director.

In the past, the Division of Personnel Services has prescribed a centralized statewide performance review form to be used by all agencies in evaluating employees. Acting on a new direction of decentralizing statewide human resource functions, the Director will no longer prescribe a mandated form.

7.0 PROCEDURES:
7.1 Effective immediately there will no longer be a centralized statewide performance review form prescribed by the Director of Personnel Services. Agencies may continue to use the current form or develop their own form(s) that best fits their individual agency needs.
7.2 The timeframes for performance reviews and the requirements to use a three-level rating system and enter ratings into SHARP remain unchanged.
