Employee Ethics
A State of Kansas employee may not:
• Engage in lobbying his or her own State agency for pay
• Participate, with certain exceptions, in the making of a
contract with anyone by whom he or she is employed or in whose business
he or she or any member of the employee’s family has a substantial
interest
• Accept compensation for performance of official State duties,
other than that to which he or she is entitled from the State
• Accept or request any gift or meal with limited exceptions
• Participate directly as a State officer or employee in the
licensure, regulation, or in any contract with an organization with
which such person holds a position
• Charge to or accept from a person known to have a special
interest, a price, fee, compensation or other consideration for
the sale or lease of any property or the furnishing of service which
is substantially in excess of that which other persons in the same
business would charge.
