Job Description

All essential employees are expected to make every effort to be at work regardless of weather conditions or other agency emergencies that warrant maintenance personnel to be at work as determined by the superintendent, designee and supervisor. You will be required to report to work as scheduled during or after a snow storm to assist in snow removal so other essential staff can report to work in a safe manner.

Minimum Requirements:

Six months of experience in a building trades or mechanical building trade.  Education may be substituted for experience as determined relevant by the agency.

Necessary Special Requirements:

Candidates must have reached their 21st birthday at the time of appointment; be free of felony conviction; free of any felony or misdemeanor domestic violence crime; have had no DUI convictions within the last 24 months; confirmation that candidate is not on the Child Abuse Registry; must complete TB screening process; and take and pass a drug test approved by the Office of Personnel Services prior to being appointed to this position unelss the incumbent is moving from one safety-sensitive position to another safety-sensitive position within the same agency performing substantially similar duties. 

Preferred Skills and/or Qualifications:

Skilled level experience in a building trade and apprentice/entry or higher-level experience in one or more additional building trade(s).


Salary range is $11.21 - $15.03 depending on qualifications.

Additional Information:

To be successful, the expectation is that a candidate will be able to competently perform the routine tasks of the position with limited supervision by the end of the probation period.
