TEMPORARY POSITION

 

This position is in the Income Tax Segment of the Customer Relations Core Process. Educates and assists customers in person, telephone, or by e-mail of applicable laws, policies, procedures, services and resources. Provides customers with information regarding status or records, tax returns or other transactions. Provides guidance on options to correct deficiencies, problems or errors. Performs account management on accounts involving individual income tax, Homestead, Food Sales tax refund and Use tax. Reviews discrepancies and adjustment letter responses, waiver requests, processes refunds, and makes adjustments for exceptions on original returns.

SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: KBI check due to direct access to Federal Tax Information in taxpayer records.

KANSAS TAX CLEARANCE CERTIFICATE IS REQUIRED FOR EVERY APPLICANT:

Each applicant applying for a State of Kansas job vacancy must obtain a valid Kansas Certificate of Tax Clearance by accessing the Kansas Department of Revenue's website at http://www.ksrevenue.org/taxclearance.html

A Tax Clearance is a comprehensive tax account review to determine and ensure that an individual's account is compliant with all primary Kansas Tax Laws. A Tax Clearance expires every 90 days. Applicants are responsible for submitting a valid certificate with all other application materials to the hiring agency. This is in accordance with Executive Order 2004-03. Your application will be considered incomplete if an ACTUAL COPY of your Certificate is not submitted within 48 hours after the posting closes.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Six months experience in interviewing, investigating or providing technical assistance to clients, customers, or the public. Education may be substituted for experience as determined relevant by the agency.


NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:  Temporary assistance is needed for processing account information and answering incoming calls.

Ability to speak Spanish/English - MANDATORY

Regular Days of work: 8 Hours/Day, Monday - Friday.
Regular Hours of work: 08:00 AM - 05:00 PM

Salary:

$13.61 hourly; can vary depending upon experience and qualifications.
