Job Description:

To assist the Kansas State Department of Education to carry out the Kansas State Board of Education mission, we are recruiting for an Applications Developer on the Information Technology Team in the Division of Fiscal and Administrative Services.

OVERVIEW OF POSITION

This position functions as webmaster for the agency’s public facing web sites. This position is critical for ensuring KSDE’s responsibility for creating and maintaining agency websites accessibility compliance with state and federal policies, programming and modifying application software, identifying and documenting application requirements, and preparing system designs and detailed specifications from which application software is written.  Provides training and assistance to developers and other agency stakeholders on web accessibility and best practices to ensure KSDE meets accessibility standards.  The tasks of this position directly support the agency's ability to communicate with schools, districts, and the public.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Successful completion of 18 hours in computer science coursework or certification and one year experience coding, testing, and debugging application programs or two years of experience coding, testing, debugging, and documenting application programs. Education may be substituted for experience as determined relevant by the agency.

Rate of pay - $29.00 hourly
