The Kansas State Legislature is implementing a world class application and infrastructure environment that enables the overall Legislative process and integrates Law Making, Senate and House Chamber Automation functions, Decision Support processes, and publication functions. The core application was initially implemented 2011 and we are seeking talented, highly motivated staff to continue to build and evolve the application environment that supports the critical work of the Kansas State Legislature.

The successful candidate must have the desire and ability to effectively perform a wide variety of duties.  As a member of the Application Services team in the Kansas Legislative Office of Information Services the candidate will have the opportunity to engage in analysis, problem solving, quality assurance, maintenance, and change management as we continue to evolve, integrate, and extend our system.  This position will work with staff members of each legislative department and must lead the test team with a positive and driven attitude.

To be considered for this position a candidate should have exceptional verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.  This position will be responsible for planning test iterations, building the test plan for each iteration, executing test plans, documenting results, and reporting test plan status and results.  This position acts as a liaison between the development staff and the user community.  Experience with automated test tools and scripting skills are a plus.

Education:

Prefer candidate with an Associate’s Degree or Bachelor of Science in I/T related discipline, or equivalent experience in software analysis and application development required.
