Job Description:

The Kansas State Historical Society seeks to hire an Archeologist II position to channel the public’s interest in archeology and historic preservation. The selected candidate will promote the preservation of cultural resources through activities and publications in person, in print, and online. 

A primary responsibility is the organization and execution of the Kansas Archeology Training Program, which includes the annual field school. Ongoing responsibilities include maintenance of cultural resources-related web pages and social media content. Unscheduled events include invited talks and requests for information or assistance. For all tasks, your work is reviewed for sufficiency and appropriateness by the supervisor during the planning stage of a project or assignment.

Minimum Qualifications:
Master’s degree in archeology, anthropology, or closely related field.

Pay Rate:  $17.39/hr.   This is a full-time classified position with benefits.
