Job Description:

We have several positions with various work hours available.

Performs custodial cleaning tasks in a "team cleaning" environment.  Small teams of employees working together to complete required cleaning assignments by using the proper methods, materials, and equipment to maintain the cleaning standards.  Dusts, polishes, vacuums, cleans carpet, cleans wipe boards, cleans walls, empties waste cans, removes recycling items, and clean fixtures.  Work is performed by using vacuum cleaners, micro-fiber wet and dry applications, carpet extractors, rotary floor machines, auto scrubbers, wet-vacs and cleaning chemicals. 

Cleans restrooms thoroughly to obtain sanitized and stocked restrooms for the public, state employees, and elected officials use.  Cleans halls, stairs, inside/outside entries and elevators located inside the building along with parking garage elevators to preserve and maintain building first impression areas by following pre-established procedures. 

Performs simple, non-skilled maintenance on custodial equipment by replacing bags, filters, checking batteries and tires.  Participates in a variety of special projects/tasks by volunteering or as designated by supervisor directed at promoting and fostering an attitude of cooperation and teamwork towards co-workers and Division customers. 

These are unclassified positions with benefits.

Starting hourly rate $11.21

Minimum Qualifications:

None required.

Physical Requirement:

Ability to lift and/or negotiate the movement of 50 pounds.

KANSAS TAX CLEARANCE CERTIFICATE REQUIRED:  Each applicant applying for a State of Kansas job vacancy must obtain a valid and up to date Kansas Certificate of Tax Clearance by accessing the Kansas Department of Revenue’s website.  A Tax Clearance is a comprehensive tax account review to determine and ensure that an individual’s account is compliant with all primary Kansas Tax Laws.  A Tax Clearance expires every 90 days.  All applicants, including current State employees, are responsible for submitting a valid and up to date certificate with all other application materials to the hiring agency.  This is in accordance with Executive Order 2004-03.  If you need assistance with the tax clearance, please contact 785-296-3199.
