Job Description:

Kansas Tax Clearance Certificate: 
Each applicant applying for a State of Kansas job vacancy must obtain a State Tax Clearance Certificate by accessing the Kansas Department of Revenue's website at http://www.ksrevenue.org/taxclearance.html.  A Tax Clearance is a comprehensive tax account review to determine and ensure that an individual's account is compliant with all primary Kansas Tax Laws. A Tax Clearance expires every 90 days. All applicants, including current State employees, are responsible for submitting a valid and up to date certificate with all other application materials to the hiring agency. This is in accordance with Executive Order 2004-03. If you need assistance with the tax clearance, please contact (785) 296-3199.

Your application will be considered incomplete if an ACTUAL COPY of your Certificate is not submitted within 48 hours after the posting closes.

The position you are viewing is located in Mankato.  This is a full-time, unclassified position with benefits.  Pay begins at $12.35 per hour, depending on experience and/or the skill level of the applicant

POSITION DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Performs office support duties of a clerical or secretarial nature, Work usually involve typing or keyboarding. Some of the duties at this level include: answering and routing calls, opening and sorting mail, verifying data for accuracy and completeness, proofreading for proper coding on fiscal reports, employee timesheets and equipment sheets, preparing and entering data and information from source documents, audit and approve invoices for payment, keeps files updated, receives and logs credit card receipt, maintains stock and supplies, completes travel vouchers. Serves as backup to the Administrative Specialist.
This position is subject to pre-employment physical testing.   The selected candidate will be required to pass the screening as a condition of employment in this position.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR THIS POSITION: 
NOTE:  If you lack any of the required experience and want us to consider relevant education, you must provide copies of your transcripts/certificates before the closing date.

Essential Requirements:
• Six months of experience in general office, clerical or administrative support work.
• Education may be substituted for experience as determined relevant by the agency.  Transcripts must be provided in order to substitute education.

Preferred Requirements:
• General computer skills
• Experience using Microsoft Office software, including word and excel.
