Job Description:

Job Summary: Osawatomie State Hospital has a vacancy for a temporary Custodial Specialist on the AM shift to clean and sanitize patient and non-patient areas as directed by custodial supervision.

Job Description: Cleans and sanitizes patient and non-patient areas in a manner which ensures patients receive treatment in a clean, safe environment. The incumbent of this position will follow hospital policies/procedures related to infection control, proper cleaning techniques, disposal of common, medical and chemical waste products and any other housekeeping related policies.  Custodial Specialists are required to work around mentally ill patients who can become aggressive.

Preferred Criteria: One year commercial custodial experience is preferred.  This job involves manual work. Physical demands involve moderate lifting of 30 pounds. Team lifting is required for any lift over 30 pounds.  There is considerable walking and standing, pushing and pulling of mops, brooms and other equipment. Custodial Specialists may occasionally be required to work past their normal quitting time on short notice and on weekends and holidays as needed. A valid driver’s license is required.
