A Tax Clearance expires every 90 days. All applicants, including current State employees, are responsible for submitting a valid and up to date certificate with all other application materials to the hiring agency. The position you are viewing is located in the Bureau of Right of Way in Topeka.  This is a full-time, unclassified position with benefits.  Pay ranges from $24.48 - $29.73 per hour, depending on experience and/or the skill level of the applicant

POSITION DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide direct supervision to others in the engineering section for the preparation of legal descriptions of property being acquired for highway construction projects. Assist the Coordinating Land Surveyor in coordinating requests of release of potential excess right of way and requests for joint-use agreements by the public and local units of government. Develop and/or write legal descriptions and plats by performing necessary calculations using several integrated computer programs. Manage the Bureau of Right of Way RID Section providing general supervision and control of this unit through coordination with the supervisor and the employees in this section. Coordinate and prepare all necessary instruments and documentation used for the appraisal and acquisition of land needed for assigned highway improvement projects.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR THIS POSITION:

Essential Requirements:
• Kansas Land Surveying License issued by the Kansas Board of Technical Professions.
