Job Description:

The Kansas Department for Children and Families (DCF) currently has an unclassified Pre-ETS (Pre-Employment Transition Services) Transition Specialist position in the Rehabilitation Services Division.  This position is located in Hiawatha, Kansas and the hiring rate of pay is $17.39 per hour. 

Pre-ETS Transition Specialist Duties:  Pre-ETS is an initiative of the vocational rehabilitation program, a program of Rehabilitation Services of the Kansas Department for Children and Families.  Pre-ETS is a new program requirement of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, as amended by the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act.  Pre-ETS Transition Specialist will provide the 5 required Pre-ETS services, the Pre-ETS optional services, conduct outreach activities for school personnel, students with disabilities, and family members, and who will participate in development of transition IEPs as appropriate and available.  The Pre-ETS Transition Specialist will establish, maintain and utilize collaborative relationships with school district personnel, local workforce development youth programs, service providers and advocates as needed to ensure preferred outcomes for Pre-ETS eligible students with disabilities.

Minimum Requirements:  Education - General.  Five years of experience interviewing, investigating, compiling information, documenting decisions, interpreting guidelines and/or providing technical assistance relevant to the agency's programs.  Post-secondary education may be substituted for experience as determined relevant by the agency.

Education Preferred - One or more of the following:  Bachelor Degree

Experience - Two years working with students and/or adults with disabilities

Valid Driver's License required (must maintain throughout employment)

Security Clearance (must maintain throughout employment)
