| The Discretionary Day countdown message
will be posted on the Important Notices section of the State Employee
Services page www.kansas.gov/employee/
today (11/07/2007).
If you have any questions about the message, you may contact Brent
Smith, Department of Administration, Division of Personnel Services
at brent.smith@da.ks.gov .
We are also in the process of notifying agencies that have employees
who may become eligible for the 2007 discretionary holiday due to
their six month anniversary occurring during the 12/16/2007 to 12/29/2007
pay period. This will allow you time to notify these employees they
will soon have a 2007 discretionary day that must be used by 12/29/2007
or it will be forfeited.
Following is a copy of the Self Service message:
”XX days left to use your 2007 Discretionary Day!* more…
*For eligible employees whose last workday of a week is Friday,
the last day to use the 2007 Discretionary Day is Friday, December
28, 2007. For employees whose last workday of a week is Saturday,
the last day to use the 2007 Discretionary Day is Saturday, December
29, 2007.
You can determine if you still have an available Discretionary
Day by looking on the View Leave Balances page in the Employee Self
Service Center located at www.kansas.gov/employee/ (click on the
Self Service icon located in the Featured Sites area). If you see
the words “Discretionary Holiday” on your View Leave
Balances page, you still have a Discretionary Day available (Non-Regent
employees).
A complete list of Executive Branch Holidays, including Discretionary
Day usage dates, is located at www.da.ks.gov/ps/subject/holiday.htm
(Note: Multiple years are listed).
Check with your agency Human Resource Office if you have questions.”
