| Pending approval of the Executive Directive, the
following pay actions will occur.
General Increase
All classified employees will receive a general increase of approximately
2.5% effective June 15, 2008. An effective dated row of June 15,
2008, will automatically insert into classified employees’
job data on Sunday, June 22, 2008.
Please add all job data rows that are effective dated prior to June
15, 2008, before Sunday, June 22, 2008. This includes promotions,
demotions, transfers, terminations and any other transactions that
require a job data row to be inserted to employee work history.
Do not enter job data rows dated greater than June 15, 2008, until
after the general increase has loaded on Sunday, June 22, 2008.
You may enter rows dated June 15, 2008, since the pay increase row
will create effective sequence rows when needed.
The June 15, 2008, job data row will insert the action/reason code
of ‘Pay Rate Change/General Increase (COLA)’ and the
new compensation rate for their current step. This includes those
employees who are on steps above range. This update does not include
classified employees at Regents Institutions. These agencies will
process their own employees.
Pay Grade Changes
The Legislature authorized job class and/or pay grade changes for
specified job classes in the classified service effective June 15,
2008. The affected job classes will be listed in an upcoming Executive
Directive. The Divisions of Personnel Services and Information Systems
and Communication will process these changes in SHARP on June 23,
2008, for the positions and employees.
A row will be added with the effective date of June 15, 2008, to
position data with the action/reason of ‘Position Change/Reallocation
Per Job Study’ or ‘Position Change/Pay Grade Change’
as appropriate for the job class. This row will move the positions
to the appropriate job class and pay grade. A corresponding row
will insert into employees’ job data. An effective sequence
one row will also be added to job data to insert the employee’s
step on the new pay grade with the action/reason of Pay Rate Change/Adjustment.
For these job classes, please add any position data rows dated prior
to June 15, 2008, before June 22, 2008. Since position data does
not allow effective sequencing, do not add any rows in position
data that are dated June 15, 2008. Also, do not add any position
data rows dated greater than June 15, 2008, until after the pay
grade changes have loaded on June 23, 2008.
This update does not include Regents Institutions. These agencies
will process their own employees.
