Provides psychological services that meet the needs of the people who live at KNI. Psychological services include conducting functional assessments of aberrant behavior, diagnosing individual problems through various assessment tools including diagnostic interviews, developing behavior support plans to reduce or prevent aberrant behavior and to increase positive skills, assessing the necessity and effectiveness of psychotropic medication, and evaluating the effectiveness of behavioral interventions. Monitors the use of restraint and psychotropic medication at KNI and participates in policy development regarding the use of restrictive procedures. Develops and presents proposed restrictive interventions to the KNI Human Rights Committee for review as required by KNI policy.
Minimum Qualifications:
· Master's Degree in Psychology.
· Must take and pass a pre-employment drug screening test
· Must pass a criminal background check
· Able to stand, sit, walk, bend, stoop and twist for long periods of time throughout shift
· A commitment to utilizing positive behavioral supports.
· Familiarity with the principles of person-centered planning.
Preferred Criteria:
· Education and training in the principles of applied behavior analysis.
· Six months experience in providing psychological services to people with intellectual disabilities.
Salary:
Commesurate with Experience
