Job Description:

The Kansas Department for Children and Families (DCF) currently has an unclassified Foster Care Liaison Child Protection Specialist positions in the Prevention and Protection Services Division. The positions are located in Topeka and the annual rate of pay is $40,000.

As an unclassified Foster Care Liaison Child Protection Specialist, you will approve all PPS case plans for children and families, attend all case planning conferences where it is anticipated that a case plan goal will change. Review and approve all relative placement requests, complete all DCF history checks for relative placement requests, review all court reports, attend court to represent DCF when necessary. Become involved in case decisions when issues arise with the provider. Monitor provider to ensure services are being provided. Monitor all aftercare cases. Become involved in aftercare cases when it appears children who have returned home may need to be re-entered into foster care. Complete interested party request reports when ordered by the court. Complete Grandparent Substantial Consideration reports when a grandparent is denied placement.  For a more detailed listing of duties, please see the position description.

Minimum Requirements: Licensed Behavioral Sciences Regulatory Board (BSRB) professional as determined relevant by the agency.  Must have license at the time of hire.
Preferred - One or more of the following:
Bachelor's in Social Work (Licensed Social Worker)
Master's in Professional Counseling (Licensed Professional Counselor)
Master's in Marriage and Family Therapy (Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist)

KANSAS TAX CLEARANCE CERTIFICATE REQUIRED:  Each applicant applying for a State of Kansas job vacancy must obtain a valid Kansas Certificate of Tax Clearance by accessing the Kansas Department of Revenue's website at http://www.ksrevenue.org/taxclearance.html.  A Tax Clearance is a comprehensive tax account review to determine and ensure that an individual's account is compliant with all primary Kansas Tax Laws.  A Tax Clearance expires every 90 days.  All applicants, including current state employees, are responsible for submitting a valid certificate with all other application materials to the hiring agency.  This is in accordance with Executive Order 2004-03.  If you need assistance with the tax clearance, please contact 785 296-3199.
