Storekeeper Specialist (Temp)

This position functions under the general direction of the Procurement Officer I. Work assignments are dictated by inventory schedules, ordering, receiving, and stocking. However, a substantial amount of the work in such matters requires the incumbent to function with co-workers with minimal direct close supervision. This is a temporary 999-hour position.

Job Description: Assist with checking of all materials, supplies, and equipment received by the hospital at the General Warehouse. Such work may involve unpacking or uncrating items received to inspect for damage, defects, breakages, spoilage and conformity to order. Items are also inspected to insure proper quantity and quality. Such work usually involves assisting of unloading of trucks, stacking and related work. Boxes are checked to insure proper receiving area is marked on them. Merchandise should be dated, rotated, displayed and stacked in appropriate area. Taking items from stock to fill requisitions, completes related paperwork by recording quantity issued, deliveries of full orders to appropriate location. Takes inventories of merchandise in General Warehouse areas. Numbering and dating of store requisitions is automatic with the workflow of the computer system. Correspondence and record maintenance are generated as needed. Information is entered into computer programs to update records. Attending training offered at the hospital, as well as informational workshops sponsored by vendors and suppliers to keep abreast of new products and methods. The incumbent of this position must stay current with web based training and instruction lead training for any new roles that would be required of this position. The incumbent of this position has authorized access or the potential of incidental exposure to Protected Health Information (PHI) under the provisions of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA) Privacy Rule. PHI must be treated in accordance with the provisions of the HIPAA Privacy Regulations including the requirements for safeguarding, releasing and recording the release of such information. The incumbent has been trained in the provision of the HIPAA Privacy Regulations as they relate to the duties of this position.

This position requires a valid driver’s license.
