Kansas Tax Clearance Certificate:

A Tax Clearance is a comprehensive tax account review to determine and ensure that an individual's account is compliant with all primary Kansas Tax Laws. A Tax Clearance expires every 90 days. Applicants are responsible for submitting a valid certificate with all other application materials to the hiring agency. This is in accordance with Executive Order 2004-03. The position you are viewing is located in the Division of Aviation, in Topeka.  This position is full-time, unclassified with benefits. Salary begins at $80,000.00 annually, depending on experience and/or skill level of applicant.

Aviation Activities
The Division of Aviation drives economic development and enhances critical infrastructure with, for, and through the Kansas Department of Transportation. Primary responsibilities include service as the aviation subject matter expert, innovator and resource for the Kansas aviation community. Division responsibilities also include but are not limited to:  regional and statewide airport improvement, represent the state Kansas to the Federal Aviation Administration, organize and conduct the business of the state Kansas Aviation Policy Review and Advisement committee, protect Kansas airspace, continuous improvement of air traffic safety, synchronization of UAS operations to include development of policy and experimentation as well as economic development activities across all levels of strategic organizations.

Preference will be given to candidates with advanced aviation experience such as type ratings and additional FAA ratings and certifications.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR THIS POSITION:

Essential Requirements:
Five years of experience in planning, organizing, and directing the work of a department, program, or agency in Aviation and/or Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) Industry.  Education may be substituted for experience as determined relevant by the agency.

Preferred Criteria:
Current copy of FAA Fixed-wing or Rotary-wing Licenses, Ratings, and/or Certifications.  Recent and direct involvement with UAS policy and/or industry.  BS or BA in the related field.
