Job Description:

Provide individual and group psychotherapy for patients on the State Security Program in accordance with accepted clinical standards and practice in the field of licensure.  Model to paraprofessional staff regarding positive patient interactions with the overall goal of increasing treatment efficacy. Conduct assessments regarding safety and substance use, and facilitates treatment to address problems identified.

Special Qualifications/ Education 

Master’s degree in Rehabilitation Counseling or a current Certified Rehabilitation Counselor (CRC) certificate.  Individuals with master’s degree in other disciplines may be considered on the condition that they complete specific courses related to the Vocational Rehabilitation counseling discipline within established agency’s timeframes after being hired.

CPI Certification within 30 days of employment and maintain certification throughout employment.

Prefer

Master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology or a related human services degree; licensed or license eligible through the Behavior Sciences Regulatory Board (BSRB) and one year of clinical/counseling experience or providing individual or group therapy.

Working knowledge and experience in program development.

KANSAS TAX CLEARANCE CERTIFICATE REQUIRED: Each applicant applying for a State of Kansas job vacancy must obtain a valid Kansas Certificate of Tax Clearance by accessing the Kansas Department of Revenue's website at   http://www.ksrevenue.org/taxclearance.html A Tax Clearance is a comprehensive tax  account review to determine and ensure that an individual's account is compliant with all primary Kansas Tax Laws. A Tax Clearance expires every 90 days.

What to Expect Next:  Once you complete and submit your application materials, your application will be reviewed to ensure you meet the minimum and any necessary special requirements.   Supporting documentation will be verified.  Please follow all instructions carefully.  Failure to complete all required paperwork, i.e., tax clearance form, including security clearance forms that will be emailed to you upon receipt of your application, by closing date will result in non-consideration for the position.  Next, applicants selected for interview will be evaluated by an interview panel using performance/behavior based interview questions. A written exercise may be completed at the time of interview. A second interview may be conducted.  Applicants will be subject to background check and criminal history investigation.
