A Tax Clearance is a comprehensive tax account review to determine and ensure that an individual's account is compliant with all primary Kansas Tax Laws. A Tax Clearance expires every 90 days. The position you are viewing is located in the Office of Information Technology Services, in Garden City.  This is a full-time, unclassified position with benefits. Salary begins at $20.13 per hour, depending on experience and/or skill level of applicant.

This position plans for and assists in the purchase of technology equipment. Once onsite they are responsible for the installation, troubleshooting and repair (or manage a vendor for installation and/or repair) of computer technology utilized in the District and all other facets of ongoing support. This equipment includes; servers, workstations, and laptop computers, printers, routers, telecommunication devices and other hardware utilized in KDOT specific computer environments. Computer environments include local workstation/laptop, network (including tele communication lines and devices), internet/intranet, protocols, and mainframe environments as well as interfaces thereof. Serves as the Primary technical support person for the District 6 (SW Kansas) end users and serves as backup support to users in field locations across the state. This individual also works with other KDOT Headquarters Technical support staff. Travel is required as needed to District Area and subarea offices in Southwest Kansas.

Essential Requirements:
• High School Diploma or equivalent and six months configuring and installing/replacing software, hardware, and connecting peripherals. Education may be substituted for experience as determined by the Agency.
• A valid driver's license is required.

Preferred Criteria:
• One year of advising and assisting computer users in a distributed computing environment.
• Experience or coursework in installation or technical support of computer technology, both hardware and software.
• Network Support including network operating systems and email (Currently Microsoft Windows, Active Directory, Microsoft Outlook/Exchange).
• Operating System Support for desktop operating systems (Currently Microsoft Windows including knowledge of Active Directory).
• User Support for desktop software applications (Microsoft Office).
