SHARP Message #612

DATE: 1/21/05
AUTHOR:

HR

SUBJECT:

New Compensation Rate for Certain Board Members (From $78.75 to $81.11)

MESSAGE TEXT:
Please note that Board Members who specifically have their board salary tied to legislative pay (Reference K.S.A. 75-3212 and 75-3223) should receive a daily pay increase from $78.75 to $81.11 effective January 2, 2005 per House Bill 2675 (see page 133 http://www.kslegislature.org/enrollbills/approved/2004/2675.pdf )

If you have not made this update in SHARP Job Data yet, please do so now. Add a new row in Job Data (Action/Reason: Pay Rate Change/Other) with an effective date of January 2, 2005 and update the comp rate field on the Compensation page with the new rate of 81.11. Check the Annual Benefits Base Rate field to ensure it is zero for these board members. (See the previous 01/21/2005 SHARP Message titled Annual Benefits Base Rate Field in Job Data).

If your eligible Board Member worked anytime during the 01/02/2005 – 01/15/2005 pay period and the Comp Rate in SHARP was not increased to $81.11 prior to Job Data cutoff (6PM on 01/18/2005), please figure the difference and enter that difference on the 01/15/2005 timesheet using the PRA (Pay Rate Adjustment) earnings code. Turn off the OK to Process? checkbox on the employee’s 01/15/2005 timesheet, then turn it back on and then save your changes.

If you prefer, you may instead, turn off the OK to Process? checkbox today and enter a supplemental for the 01/15/2005 timesheet on Monday, January 24, 2005.

Please contact Brent Smith at 785-296-1432 or brent.smith@da.state.ks.us if you have any questions.
