As a reminder, SHARP Message Number 618 informed agencies of regulatory changes effective June 5, 2005 that affected SHARP. The regulation changes affected data fields in Position Management. The description of the SHARP changes that were made is provided below. If you need to make any further changes effective June 5, 2005 to positions that have been affected by these two updates you will need to send a request to request.sharp@da.state.ks.us and the SHARP unit will have to make the change for you.

Safety Sensitive Positions (batch job for regulation change): 

The “Designated/Commercial Driver” field label located on the Kansas Information Page in Manage Positions will be changed to “Safety Sensitive/Commercial Driver” as a result of changes to K.A.R. 1-6-32 which are effective on and after June 5, 2005. All active positions in SHARP (excluding Regents Institutions) that have “Designated” value selected will have a new Position Data row inserted effective June 5, 2005 to update the value to “Safety Sensitive”. The batch job will run on Thursday, June 16, 2005 in order to give agencies time to make other position related changes that may also be effective June 5, 2005. Do not add any rows to Position Management dated greater than June 5, 2005 until after we run the batch job on Thursday June 16, 2005.

Supervisory Code Changes (batch job for regulation change): 

The Lead worker and Manager supervisory codes in SHARP will no longer be used after the elimination of K.A.R. 1-2-84a (Lead worker) and K.A.R.1-2-84b (Manager) effective on and after June 5, 2005. All active positions in SHARP (excluding Regents Institutions) that have the “Lead Worker (L)” supervisory value selected will have a new Position Data row inserted effective June 5, 2005 to update the supervisory value to “No (N)”. All active positions in SHARP (excluding Regents Institutions) that have the “Manager (M)” supervisory value selected will have a new Position Data row inserted effective June 5, 2005 to update the supervisory value to “Supervisor (S)”. The batch job will run on Thursday, June 16, 2005 in order to give agencies time to make other changes that may also be effective June 5, 2005. Do not add any rows to Position Management dated greater than June 5, 2005 until after we run the batch job on Thursday June 16, 2005.
